Day 27: And steak for dessert

We were blessed to have good friends in from out of town last night so we all went out to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. I must have eaten my weight in peanuts just to keep the desires of the cinnamon-buttered rolls at bay. Anyway, dinner was an 11 oz. steak with mushrooms and green beans and I had not even received the steak when one of the managers came to the table to inform me that my steak was underweight and they would not only bring my original steak but an extra 6 oz steak later to (more than) make up the difference.

Beautiful, ain't it?

There was weird moment when, nearly done with my meal of over half a pound of amazing steak, a waitress came to the table, as if carrying dessert, and asked "Who's missing some steak?" In a carnivorous way, I envisioned an endless line of steak that would continue for hours until, like Bobby Hill, I would be forced to unbutton the belt and pants just to get the third or fourth pound of steak in me. And with a toss of the fork, I would finish the last pound and the crowd would cheer, they had never seen someone do low-carb with such gusto.

P.S. We went for froyo and it wasn't the same. If only they had bacon-flavored...
